Hidden Treasures - Fremantle's Winter Music Series

Hidden Treasures will light a spark in your winter night this year with music, yarns, and shenanigans. Every Thursday night in July!

HIDDEN TREASURES WINTER MUSIC SERIES, EVERY THURSDAY IN JULY
With the likes of San Cisco, Bon Scott, Jebediah and John Butler calling Fremantle
home, it is no secret that the port city has a longstanding love affair with music.
Every Thursday night in July musicians and audiences across all generations will come
together in celebration of this musical history for the third annual Hidden Treasures
Winter Music Series presented by the City of Fremantle.
This year, the Series will return to the West End featuring a line-up who all have one
thing in common - Fremantle. Whether they call Fremantle home, or have emerged
from the port city, all of the artists, young and established, hold a special place in their
hearts for Fremantle.
“Everyone knows that music and Fremantle go hand in hand and of the talent that has
come out of Freo over the years,” said Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt.“Hidden Treasures
celebrates this and has established itself as a niche event in the City’s festival program
since its inception a few years ago.”
Among the Freo-centric line-up, Pond singer and Tame Impala’s former bass player
Nick Allbrook will perform for the first time since leaving the group in May.
“Tame Impala and Pond have emerged from Fremantle and are now globally acclaimed,
so it’s a real treat to have Nick Allbrook gracing the Merenda Gallery for an intimate
performance this year.”
Other highlights in this year’s line-up include the reunion of Fremantle funksters Book
Of Funk for a special Hidden Treasures performance, and a plethora of musical
treasures such as Pimps of Sound, Mama Says Yes, Axe Girl, The Crux, Mister and
Sunbird, Leon Osborn, Valiant, Bass Reflex, Tashi and more.
Four venues along High Street will host musical acts, warming up the strip with a month
of music. The Worker’s Club will be the go-to for those in need of sustenance, with two
live bands and a feed each night from 5.30-9.00pm.
Every Thursday the venues will each host an event at different times, allowing you to
wander from one music hot spot to the next, enjoy each act and make a night of it.
Warm your hearts and hands, keep an eye out for the exciting street activations, venues
themed by local artists and see what has connected music and Fremantle for so many
generations at the Hidden Treasures Winter Music Series.
